Bhadrakali, which means "protector Kaali"[1], is a popular Hindu goddess in Southern India, particularly in Kerala. She is one the fierce forms Adi Parashakti or Shakti (also known as Durga Devi, Mahadevi or Mahamaya), mentioned in the Devi Mahatmyam.
