Bangalore Palace is a beautiful palace whose construction was started by Reverend J Garret in the year 1862 and was later bought by the king of Mysore HH Chamarajendra Wadiyar X in 1884. Spread across an area of 454 acres, the palace was inspired by Tudor style. The palace was opened for public viewing in the year 2005 by Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar. The palace houses nearly one thousand pictures of Maharajas and other house members.
The Bangalore Palace has innovative audio tour guide which is available in seven different languages which include English, Hindi, Kannada, Spanish, French, German and Italian. The duration of this audio tour is about sixty minutes. The palace has a special attraction known as Coat of Arms. It was a present to Chamaraja Wadiyar X from the British. The piece has a royal touch and it symbolizes power.
The Bangalore Palace is open for visit from 10 AM to 6 PM on all the days of a week except Sundays. An entry fee of INR 175 is charged from the Indian tourists while the foreign tourists are charged INR 350. If you want to carry a camera for taking pictures, it will cost another 500 rupees while taking a video will cost you another 1000 rupees.
