    One of the oldest jails in the country, the Changchalguda Central Jail, is situated in Hyderabad. The prison is located in the old city of Hyderabad at Changchalguda. It was built under the guidance of the chief architect Nawab Khan Bahadur Mirza Akbar Baig and was constructed under the regime of Nizam. 

    The prison has the capacity of accommodating 1000 inmates. During the year 1989-90, the prison inmates achieved 100% literacy, thanks to the adult literacy program introduced in the year
