The Chillipam Monastery is situated 15 kilometers away from the Rupa village in the West Kameng District. The Monastery has been built on a promontory that offers a spectacular 270-degree view of its surrounding Himalayan valleys. The monastery is also known as the ’Chillipam Gompa’. This holy sanctuary is glorified by the presence of some of the most magnificent Buddhist art. In fact, the Chillipam Gompa is the only Indian monastery that has been built exclusively by a Chinese architect.
