The Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary is located 13 km away from Pasighat. The sanctuary is spread across a cluster of islands along the Siang River. The only option to reach this picturesque tourist destination is to cruise along the river. The sanctuary is known for its diverse ecosystem. It is this same ecosystem that proves to be a favourable habitat for diverse species of birds, which includes several migratory birds like wild ducks, cranes, waterfowl, to name a few. These migratory birds arrive at this area right from Mongolia and Siberia during September and they keep on arriving till February every year until summer comes. These forest islands houses Sambars, hog deer, elephants, hispid hare, wild buffalo, and a lot of other fauna, suitable to survive in rainforest conditions.
