Kanakakkunnu Palace is situated in Thiruvananthapuram close to the Napier museum in India.[1It is the country’s first digitally-designed garden, which was created by Akhilesh. V. Nair and A. Gangaprasad, University of Kerala, Department of Botany. It was created in the name of Sree the Moolam Thirunal. In the past, it has been utilized as a venue for Travancore royalty to host their guests and serve vegetarian food, as their family members were vegetarian.
The palace is now managed from the tourism department. The palace is host to numerous cultural events and shows. It is also home to a variety of cultural events. Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has listed this site as a monument of heritage. It is located about 800m north-east from Napier Museum, it is situated about 800 meters north east of Napier Museum in the heart of Trivandrum city, Kanakakunnu Palace is one of the last architectural remnants from the colonial period. It was constructed during the time of Travancore King Sree Moolam Thirunal (#6 (1885-1924) along with assistance by Viswabrahmin it was used as the main location to host royal dinners. Later on, Swathi Thirunal, one of Travancore’s most popular rulers, renovated the palace and built tennis courts within the palace.
