Kodanand Elephant Training Centre is located on the southern banks of the River Periyar near Kaprikkad in Kerala. It is one of the largest elephant training centres in Kerala where the elephants are trained and make people friendly. The entry fees for the adults are INR 10, for children up to 12 years it is INR 5 and for the foreigners it is INR 25. The nearest railway station to the centre is Ernakulum which is about 45 km away and the nearest airport is Cochin International Airport. The parking fees for the 2 and 3 wheelers is INR 5 while it is INR 10 for the four wheelers. Elephants re considered auspicious in South India and the trained beings are amazingly friendly with the people. Since the capture of the elephants has been banned by the Government of India, the centre serves as a perfect site for the training and upkeep of the Elephants. The centre also offers Elephant Safari.
