State capital and seat of government for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts State House is located in Beacon Hill in the neighbourhood of Boston. The building was designed by Charles Bulfinch and came into existence in January 1798 at a cost of $133,333. The building has repeatedly renovated and enlarged ever since it came into existence. The building is considered one of Bulfinch’s finest works and a masterpiece of Federal architecture.
Located at the top of Park Street, the State House is instantly recognisable because of its golden dome. The edifice can be easily accessed by public transportation or on foot.
