    Raj Ghat is a grand memorial to “father of the nation” - Mahatma Gandhi. Prior to that it was a popular ghat of Old Delhi, on the banks of Yamuna. Today it is a sprawling garden with a black marble platform at the exact place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated on 31 January 1948. This monument is of high national significance to Indians. It is located on the banks of the river Yamuna on Ring Road officially known as Mahatma Gandhi Road.

    There is no Entry fee and visiting hours are specified above. One needs to remove their footwear when approaching the memorial. There are other memorials of Nehru Gandhi family in within walking distance.
