Sree Chitra Art Gallery is an art gallery located in Thiruvananthapuram, India, established in 1935.[1It is located in the northern area that are part of the Napier Museum. The gallery was inaugurated by Chithira Thirunal Baliarama Varma.[1The gallery has an exclusive collection of contemporary and traditional paintings which include works by Raja Ravi Varma, Nicholas Roerich, Svetoslav Roerich, Jamini Roy, Rabindranath Tagore, V. S. Valiathan, C. Raja Raja Varma, and K. C. Paniker, and K. C. Paniker.[2][3There are around 1100 works in the gallery.The Sri Chithra Art Gallery was officially opened for public viewing by then Maharaja of Travancore Sri Chithira Thirunal on the 25th September, 1935. The Gallery is credited to Dr.J.H.Cousins who was the advisor to the art of the government of Travancore. The Gallery has an extensive collection of the diverse genres of art in India and some of the other parts of Asia.
