More about The Golden Pagoda, Namsai and Historical Information
The Golden Pagoda of Arunachal Pradesh is situated along a 20 hectare complex in the Namsai District in Arunachal Pradesh. The Pagoda is also called by the name ’Kongmu Kham’, which happens to be a term in the Khamti language. It is a Buddhist temple built in Burmese style and was inaugurated in the year 2010. Chowna Mein, who is originally a politician in Arunachal Pradesh, spent almost 3 crore rupees to build the pagoda on the plot; provided by the Arunachal state government. Kongmu Kham is underway in its path of becoming India’s first international Tripiá¹aka centre. The World Tripiá¹aka Foundation has been working to make that a reality.
If you want to experience the true essence of the Golden Pagoda, you must pay a visit to the place during Kathina festival. It is the largest annual festival to be celebrated at the Golden Pagoda. Every year, a number of Thai Buddhist monks are found to be participating in the holy festival. On visiting the pagoda, you would see an image of Buddha. It was earlier kept at the Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, and later it was gifted to the pagoda on behalf of Bhumibol Adulyadej. The Thai monks had also presented a Money Tree to the Golden Pagoda. Visit the temple to fill your life with holy vibes.
