    Divided in six sections with over 35 galleries of scientific and cultural artifacts, the Indian Museum is the largest museum in India. Founded by Dr. Nathaniel Wallich, the museum has rare collections of armors, antiques, skeletons, mummies, ornaments and other epic paintings. The Indian museum is also the oldest musem holding a national importance under the ministry of culture. It is basically divided into important sections like, Art section, Anthropological section, Archaeological section, Geological section, Zoological section, Industrial section, and also some few nearby attractions.

    Formed in a magnificent mansion, the museum occupies sculptures of great things resemble to Indian and other history.  Located in Chowringhee on Jawahar Lal Nehru Road, commonly known as ’ Jadughar’, the Indian Museum of Kolkata is the ninth oldest regular museum of the world.
