    Tihar Jail Complex is one of the two Prison Complexes in Delhi. It is run by the department of prisons, under the Government of Delhi. Tihar jail is about 7 KM from Chanakyapuri and houses 9 Central Jails with about 10,500 inmates. Also known as Tihar Ashram this is the largest prison complex in South Asia. Though it was build specifically to house criminals requiring highest security, today Tihar prison is used to log under trials and suspected criminals as well. Tihar Jail products are now a known brand, where inmates of this prison complex various products which is sold under the brand name T’J. The prison is styled a correctional institution. Its main objective is to convert its inmates into ordinary members of society by providing them with useful skills, education, and respect for the law. Tihar even has its own radio station as a significant number of inmates take interest in music, thanks to its music therapy aimed at reforming the prisoners.
